Rock Bottom?


"At around the same time I started reading novels by Charles Bukowski and Chuck Palahniuk. I loved Palahniuk's twisted characters who were always huge messes of human beings and seemed to want to reach the rock bottom. I read other novels too where the characters had addictions. I started idolizing these characters. And I started characterizing myself. I didn't even want to be a succesful poker player. I wanted to be miserable, I wanted to be the loser everyone had sympathy for. I wanted to be a legend, a hero, but I wanted to achieve that status by the most unheroic ways possible."
